Week 2
Daily sketchbook
I’ve had a busy week of fun and work things. My daily sketch is usually one of the last things I do of an evening and it’s not quite a habit yet - I have almost forgotten a few times. Luckily my partner is doing a similar thing but with photography so we remind each other and hold each other accountable.
Day 8 - I spend a lot of time daydreaming about summer and the ocean. This came out of my pen.
Day 9 - The night before I struggled to get to sleep and in my head I wrote this poem. Noted it down in this sketchbook format the next day.
Day 10 - I was thinking about the magic we all contain. Might develop this further.
Day 11 - I drew a photo of my partners eye. In real life his eyelashes are much better than this for which I am always envious.
Day 12 - I didn’t find any better colouring material yet so the watercolours made another appearance. I saw some beautiful artwork on the side of a shipping container of a woman swimming which inspired this. People cold plunge in the lake here (I have done it once). Temperatures dipped to -30 so I won’t be having another go until it warms up.
Day 13 - his favourite chair, sketched while I sat in mine (favourite chair).
Day 14 - the ingredients for the naans I was making for dinner. Recipe here because they’re amazing (swap egg with flax seed if you’re vegan like me).
It’s snowing again now and the cloud is low over the mountain. I’m in a huge fleece with a mug of coffee feeling pretty happy to be cosy inside. Enjoy your week and stay warm,
Tarn xxx
